Discomfort of the unknown

FROM THE COLLECTION: Knots of life

Late night hours in an unknown land.

Tired eyes spot blurry crowd movements.

Time zones become irrelevant.

Cold shower.

Unfamiliar smells.

Long sleep.

Discomfort rings louder than the alarm clock in the early morning hours.

Homesickness is demanding explanations in whose bed my body slept.

A painful spine refuses to forget I made it fly to another continent.

Stoicism.

Wisdom.

Stillness.

Breathing reminds me I’m here and now.

Peace invites me to accept it all.

Knowing recognizes emotions are not permanent.

Discomfort of the unknown,

Predictability of the known.

Which one will you choose today?
